Get Your Massage Therapy Degree at New York College of Health Professions

Did you know you can earn your New York College Associate degree in Massage Therapy in as little as two years? That is only 24 months to a new, rewarding career in a rapidly growing field. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, massage therapy jobs will increase by 23% in the period 2012 - 2022, providing great opportunities for licensed massage therapists.

At New York College of Health Professions, our 72 credit Massage Therapy Program requirements exceed the licensing requirements determined by New York State. This helps ensure that you are well-prepared for the State licensing exam and the national certification exam. Furthermore, it gives you an edge over your competition when applying for employment. Also, because New York College has regional institutional accreditation, many of the credits may transfer should you decide later to pursue other health care fields, like nursing.

During your time at New York College, you will study both European massage, which is based on standard Western anatomy and physiology, and Asian Bodywork therapy (ABT), which is based on the principles of Oriental medicine. In addition to the benefit of learning various modalities and principles, you will learn about the this field from experienced faculty, many of whom continue to work in their own practice.

Upon passing the State exam and becoming licensed, you have a variety of choices in how to grow your clientele. While some licensed massage therapists look for employment at wellness center, spas or with hospitals, others prefer to start their own business right away. We provide employment services for our graduates so that they can begin a rewarding career as a licensed massage therapist as soon as possible.
